My black cat

My cat is dying.
he is almost 15 years old.
Spoke to the vet today. He thinks the cat's system is slowing shutting down.

He was my first cat ever. Had him even before my son.

I was thinking the entire day today, about what I should do after he's gone.
Give another cat a home?
I'm not sure, because whenever they die, they leave this huge gaping hole in my heart.
I never really recovered when my favourite cat died, in fact, I never took in another one after that.

What should I do? I'm already in a state of panic....he's still lucid and hydrated.....still walking about, although he's loosing strength in his legs.
He's almost blind I think.....

His dying is like I'm closing a huge chapter in my life - the one who scratched and bit me the most, when I first got him. He was born in a drain, my gf found him hurt, abused and terrified of people. I took him in.

that was 15 years ago. today, I hope he can look back on his life and know he was loved.
